The opening sequence of Mario trying to open the letter while wearing gloves just about did me in! Was that scripted, Richie, or did you guys just play it off really well?
Ganondorf! I like it that there were subtitles even though we could clearly understand what he was saying.
And Mario mimicking him was sooo funny! I also really liked the timing of the end exchange in the scene. "What mode?" "Team swat!" "Okee-dokee!"
When Ness walked by in the background of the argument between Gary and Brock, that was the highlight of the scene for me. Humor like that adds dimension to the fictional world because it gives the impression that Ness is actually busy doing something else, that he is genuinely just wandering past.
Gary and Brock stepping between Luigi and Mario and the screen is gold! I have had siblings do that! The exchange that plays out is so perfect. Brock and Gary's complete lack of concern for the game, perceiving it as a mere obstacle to obtaining Mario and Luigi's attention. Mario's struggle with a temper. "As far as I'm concerned you two suck equally." I love the delivery of that line! Then Gary's ridiculous, "But one of us has to suck less!" He's lost track of the whole point of the argument, from a "suck = insult, ergo Mario just insulted me" to "suck = a measure with which to compete against Brock" And then Mario's, "I don't know, I don't care! Just get out of my house!"... All the more reason to lock the doors.
The Snake costume/make-up is incredible! I'm really worried about him! And I like how Wario is hanging out with him, for no real reason. As though, despite his external cavalier attitude toward Snake's plight, some part of him does actually care. Also ... THE PLOT THICKENS!
Ness might not be psychic anymore but he's still clever! Nice ploy to get Gary and Brock out of everybody's hair for awhile! Props to Ness!
The ninjas! Not only was that clip hilarious but now I'm really intrigued! What's up with the ninjas!? "Can we just let future Mario and Luigi worry about the ninjas?" Awesome line to quote out of context!
That last exchange between Wario and Waluigi was very excellently acted! Matt almost cracked a smile once but other than that it was so perfectly played, almost under-played. For once, for me, there was a genuine sense of a deep friendship, rather than just a we-goof-off-together-sometimes friendship.
AAAAAAAAAAAA! Waluigi has his powers!!! The plot thickens! I practically spazzed when he threw them! Suddenly the dynamics change! The "beacon" only effected those in the vicinity when it exploded!?!? Does this mean it will wear off!? Is it reversible!? What happens when they find out Waluigi still has his powers?! I can't wait for the next episode!!!!!
