I sent a YouTube PM to Richard Alvarez two months ago and I didn't get any responses. I am posting this to the forum to see if anyone will help me with this question.

Does anyone know how Richard Alvarez got the gradient for the Stupid Mario Bros. Logo?

you mean the colored letters?

well I'm not sure what program but I'm going to tell you how to do it with GIMP


just color the text one color, use the fuzzy select tool to select the text, and use a gradient to color the second part

Sorry for being late to post, but I need to say this... Can you see what Paint is doing to the world?

Anyways, in Photoshop (just in case) make your text layer. Then simply go to layer fx and overalls a gradient overlay.

MC, he's a GIMP user. That means he doesn't want to spend $400 + on a photo editing software.

I just think Microsoft should put more into Paint.

Microsoft needs to partner with GIMP
