If you don't mind me asking, what's the point of posting the topic before the video is up, especially if you don't want people posting in it? Seems a bit counterproductive.
Adam, Rich and I (though I've been the one who usually posts the video topics since the summer, with the exception of the two months I had to temporarily leave) are the one who posts the official video/video link topic (This was established because if it was just any member, we'd have 50 threads appear for 1 video as soon as its posted.) Adam isn't always online, and Rich doesn't come on the forum everyday, even if he posts a video, so being the one who's online a good amount of the day, I take the responsibility of posting it.
The problem is that when Rich announces a video is going to be released on a specific day, and then posts the video, sometimes none of us are online. And many people here want to comment on the video/give their opinion about whether it was good or not, since rich and chris do read the comments here. We've had a few times where people waited for hours for the official thread to be posted.
I've been posting the thread early because even if I'm not online when the video is released, everyone can start commenting/reviewing right away. Of course, this won't be for every video, because Rich doesn't always announce specific days when videos are posted. But for scheduled videos, the ones that a lot of people want to review, I usually put a thread up around the time Rich has said he plans to post the video. Since Rich said the finished the videos, and just needs to upload them, I waiting until around the time he said he'd be posting it to put up the thread.
