Well, needless to say I am rather angry at Governor Mark Sanford. He went "missing" a couple weeks ago. Not even his wife knew where he was let alone the state government. So yea, technically we had no one in charge of the Palmetto State for about 4 or so days. He returned late last Tuesday and called a Press Conference for Wednesday. Now, the story was that he was "hiking on the Apalachan Trail" (I spelled it wrong sorry folks) and it was one most believed cause he was an out doorsman after all. Well, he had the Press Conference and he admitted that he was not hiking... in fact HE WASN'T IN THE COUNTRY! He admitted to having an extramerital affair with a women IN ARGENTINA!

Well, I know not a lot of people agreed with Mark Sanford in his opinions, but I can go ahead and say that alot of people thought this "he may not make great decisions and I may disagree with him, but he is a man of principle and I respect him highly". So yea, when he admitted to this the State of South Carolina was shocked.

There is huge support for his wife, Jenny Sanford, whgo is handling this well saying that she kicked him out 2 weeks priar to him admitting to the affair. She says that she needed to set an example to her 4 sons and stand up to this. She is willing to make ammends if her husband is also willing, but then Mr. Sanford had another interview where he said that he may have crossed the line with other women and considered his mistress in Argentina his "soulmate".

A recent poll showed that over 70% of South Carolinians want him to resign, but he refuses saying that he wants to make amends and finish his job. Needless to say that most people believe Mrs. Sanford, a daughter of a wealthy family and a former VP on Wall Street (she doesn't need him to put bread of the table) should divorce him ASAP.

Now, there are three main reasons for why people want him to resign:
1. He lied to the whole state
2. He may have used State taxpayers money to fund his most recent trip
3. Everyone has lost all respect for him

But there are two reasons why people may not want him to resign:
1. Our Lueitenant Governor (next in line) isnt exactly "great". He used to speed 70 MPH zones at over 100 MPH (about three times) and one of those times he basically used his position as a reason not to get a ticket....and he also accidentally crashed a small plane and shattered his ankle......needless to say he hasnt really gotten in much trouble since then. But he has also done other questionable things, but since the crash he has behaved.
2. Alot of people still believe his actions should be forgiven and just be forgotten.

Personally I want his butt out of office!
(I have been lied to)

So what do ya'll think?
Should he stay or go?

If ya'll need more info, look up his press conference or his second interview.

And also pray for The Sanford family and the state of South carolina.

I personally beleive this man has made some dire mistakes, and he does need to be repromanded for them. However, i also beleive in forgivness...and so i do beleive the people should forgive him, but that he should not remain in office if he is setting a poor example. Kudos for his wife who was not afraid of standing up.
