Problem with Movie Maker 2.1

on the XP computer, movie maker 2.1 will not work because when it opens, it pops up an error message saying that it has encountered a problem and needs to close. it gives you the options of saying send or don't send. this is a pretty common problem for lots of people, but it just seems unfixable.

had that issue before, don't know why, I think it might be because I downloaded the version when I was suppose to have in the first place

it's the one that came with SP2, so I don't know how you did that.

well, I tried it out, but I can't use it because it won't import anything but AVI, which my camera saves in ASF. I wish I could change that somehow, but I can't.

Ohhhh.... That sucks. My camera records to avi... Xvid, so I have to download a bunch of codecs to make it work.

AVI is just a container format... SO you MIGHT (no guarantees) be able to make it work by just changing the extension to .avi.

well, I deleted it too, I couldn't find any transitions or anything. just blank screens.

You could always try Sony Vegas 7...

Sony's actual site for the FREE download of it, so you know its legal and legit

I have tried sony vegas 7, but it doesn't come with a product key, which I have to have in order to make it work.
