According to the late Steven Bauer, The Artifact is loacted "at a point where man is protected from what lies beneath." Now I raise the question, what do you think this saying means?

I have several ideas on what it's ture meaning is, feel free to share your own.

In Episode 44 Link describes the bridge he finds as "a point where man is protected from what lies beneath" so a point is the bridge and man is protested by what lies under it which is the artifact/ fire flower. so it could mean "Whatever is underneath this bridge can protect a man."

Another idea is about what the fire flower actualy does. In the games when Mario get's a fire flower he gains 1 more layer to him and he becomes more powerful. Maybe "Man is protected from what lies beneath" means that "The artifact will protect the man that uses it by providing another layer of protection."

well that's all I got on the topic, tell me what you think.

Maybe this is just silly of me but I thought that it was just referring to the fact that a bridge protects protects people from the water underneath...

hey Adam, correction to your post, it was 44 where Link found the artifact. and im beginning to think that you and Rich are communicating and letting out little slips of info disguising it as theories. that's a good theory!

Im pretty sure the riddle meant that the bridge protected man from the stream underneath... Try not to look so deeply into these things.

Yeah it was just referring to the bridge over water. But the flower is different than one found in the Mushroom kingdom.
