Not far from the capital city of Megasol lay a large factory complex. Large chimneys rose up high over the densly wooded region. Oddly enough, none of the trees that surrounded the complex were cut down . usually, to supply the factories with heat and keep the processes of modern times rolling.

Yet this factory, owned by the Fincham brothers was a curious oddity. Employees were paid more for their loyalty and secrecy. The factory was safer then others, and it was surrounded by large walls.
The first bell of the day rang, Workers, all lined up next to the steam powered production lines. All had their hair cut extremely short, and were dressed in magically enchanted protective heat gear.. Slowly but surely, every line leading out from a large, curved metal kettle started rolling. Everyone was in position, knowing that they were not going to get started until he arrived.
A man entered from the large northern entrance of the steel manufactory, running towards the large steel kettle. A slow applause started, and people cheered at the man dressed only in enchanted shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. He looked relatively normal outside of the fact that he lacked any body hair, not even eyelashes or a single strand of hair. As the man approached the kettle the applause and cheering grew louder. A chant of ‘Em-Em!” started going around. To say that the man loved the attention the people gave him would be a mild understatement.

MM climbed the stairs attached the side of the kettle until he had reached the edge. He looked down at the glow below and smiled
With one final look at the cheering labor force MM leaped off the edge of the kettle, into the molten mess of metal below.

What would be an instant death sentence for any other mortal was like a wamr bath to him.
He quickly got to work, He shot two streams of fire from both hand They hit the sides of the kettle and bounced off into all directions.

From afar, the workers could see the sparksflyign in all directions from the kettle. They were small enough to not disappear before they could harm anyone. The temperature all around him started rising until he was satisfied.

Men in safety gear started to toss pieces of scrap metal into the metling kettle. MM focused his fire on the floating pieces until they melted into the brightly coloured mass that he currently was bathin in.

Eventually, he decided that the temperature was perfect “Open her up!”

The cogs truned, and the kettle started to rhythmically “spit” out pieces of motlen metal that the workeders started to work modify into weaponry.

MM leaned back against the wall of “his” kettle

“Aaah. Another fine day of work.”

(Also, check the main thread. Have fun. Lets go on an adventure, people!)

Deep underground, away from normal equipment's detection laid a base full of technology not quite known to this world yet. Some was, but in ways that most normal civilians wouldn't expect. The only remote sign anyone could catch was a steam exhaust pipe that was 1-way and was linked to another factories steam outlet. Sure it caused them grief, but the owner hardly cared. The base belonged to a rather precarious fellow who kept down here, mostly for his own good, but also to keep away from the people with magical powers.

He had been born without any, so that made him a little jealous of those who could shoot flames from their hands, raise the dead, control air, earth, water, or any blend of unnatural powers. All he got was a brain that developed new ideas a little better, but that's not supernatural: people before him, and around him now, had the same mental capacities.

What made him different from all of them? The fact he executed the ideas he had and actually got them to work. Inside this underground base was a plethora of gadgets, gizmos, complete techs, and incomplete ones. The incomplete ones involved a plane that can't yet fly for very long, a tank that was too heavy to move and be practical, and a design for a laser weapon, that, while built, had no laser in it as he's never been able to get any kind of laser to work.

The complete techs included throwing blades that were the best anyone has ever seen, a self-rapelling grapple hook that used a mini steam engine to pull the user up, a flamethrower that matched what the people with the same powers could do, and some nasty guns that could rip a man apart without a problem. The one item that was sealed off, never to be opened, was a poisonous gas, that, when used, would cling itself to the steam water molecules and poison the air, and seeing as how this era is full of steam stuff... well... a pandemic would ensure.

Standing at a workbench was someone who only a very few knew as Netha. He was working on a technology that, while complete, hasn't been tested yet. The technology was a freezing one: capable of quickly cooling down the air around an object to freeze it; basically portable liquid nitrogen that creates blocks and doesn't make the object so brittle a feather can break it. With the current grenade done, he threw it against a testing wall and saw it worked, but it still made the metal wall too brittle. "..." Well, there goes the work he put into that. He sighed and began work on a new one, toning down on the rapid cooling substance used.

In the midst of a roaring crowd, a small girl weaved through all the people. From her lack of height and tiny body, she made her way through crowds with ease. This small girl went by the name of Punkcick. She liked to observe the people and their actions. She smiled whenever she made any eye contact with anyone, but swiftly kept moving along. Eventually when she got through the crowd, she sat down underneath a nearby tree and glanced about the courtyard and marketplace she was in. Since Punkcick could never stand completely still, she took her right hand and repeatedly swished it through the air until a fire ball was formed. She smiled and made short tosses with the fire ball to the other hand. Every so often Punkcick would glance to the people bustling in town to see them staring at the orange ball of fire. All she would do is smile and wave with whichever hand was free from the fire at that moment.
