Probably the most controversial film of the year is now out on DVD so what better time to bring back the hate and acceptance of this movie.
Now before you make the immature jokes that have been done to death like, "Michael Bay Sucks! Explosion! Explosion!" I'll stop you there. I want this thread to be for more of a mature and sophisticated outlook on this film. Like my opinion on it for example:
I enjoyed Transformers 2; however, this isn't saying much because I enjoy every movie I see. I don't think this film calls for bashes to Michael Bay about random explosions, confusing fight sequences, and an overgrown storyline, none of which I saw in this film. Maybe I'm not as slack-jawed, simple-minded as the rest of the 1.6 million Americans that saw this at midnight on June 19, 2009, but I didn't find the plot hard to follow at all and I hardly got lost in the giant robot fights. Did I agree with every directing action Michael Bay made? Not at all. Every instant of Robotic generals made me shake my head in shame and I think there were 5 too many spinning camera shots. I mean what was Bay thinking? "Hmm, this generic love scene is very clichque. Instead of going back and I dunno, rewriting it so it's more original I think I'll just have the camera spinning during it." All in all I think this movie didn't get it's fair shake. People jump at calling it random with the explosions and racist which just isn't fair. This movie isn't worth the $20 for the immediate release but wait a month and $13 is accurate. Hopefully for Transformers 3, Michael Bay can redeem himself and make a film that's all around accepted *cough add Unicron cough*.
