Alcohol should be completely illegal. that is the stuff you drink not rubbing alcohol(though I think that was clear)

reasons

-thousands of people die each years because of alcohol related wrecks. It is estimated that atleast 50% of all automobile crashes are caused by intoxicated drivers.

-it kills your brain cells, but hey if you want to be stupid...ok

-It hurts your liver. drink enough alcohol long enough and you will get schorosis(cant spell) of the liver and die. unless your one of the few who can get a liver transplant to work(if you can even get a liver fast enough).

and to expound on something DWO said. any good that can be gotten from alcohol can be gotten from the original, unfirmented drink(e.g. instead of wine , grapejuice). the firmented liquid is bad on your liver in any quantity. even one beer can effect your judgement and vision bad enough that you are not really fit to drive.

I now quote something from the Old Testament:

"Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise."

~Proverbs 20:1(KJV)

You're religious. Don't you think Wine is the body of Christ, or whatever? Also, if Wine was ilegalized, my dad would lose his job, so no. It should be for 18 year old graduates.

mr. pbj...most churches do the wine and the unleavened bread in obedience to what Jesus told us to do. while there are some churches that really believe they are eating the blood and body of Christ, most do it in symbolism. and remember, we are alo tought that everything is good in MODERATION

I see quite a few people saying alcohol should be flat out banned. I think that's an incredibly stupid thing to say because when they did try to ban it Moonshine got created and was a hundred times worse than the stuff in the bottles that goes through quality checks.
Now, I don't think the age should be lowered, but I do think parents should actually discuss the use with their children and schools shouldn't just use scare tactics.

Eh... I think alcohol should be just plain illegal. But, for the sake of discussion, I'll continue beyond that. When you're 18 you've just started out as an adult. Most 18 year olds can still be immature even if they are technically 'adults'. I'm pretty positive that lowering he drinking age to 18 would be disastrous, just because most 18 year olds will be stupid and put their health in danger due to too much alcohol consumption. At least when you're 21, you should have matured more. Hopefully by then you'll be a more responsible person, so I think the drinking age should stay the same.

That is my opinion on the matter.

While I don't believe that the drinking age should be lowered under normal circumstances, I do believe that those 18 and over who are in the armed forces should be able to consume alcohol; they put their lives into harm's way on a daily basis, and yet they cannot join their older buddies in bars for drinks after battles; if anyone deserves the ability to drink, it should be them.

I don't know.

BUT

One thing that I think definitely SHOULD be illegal is Tobacco. I have seen my grandmother DIE because of it. Nobody should have to go through that.

I say it should be the same 21 because your more of an adult I guess you can say. But if your 18 then you just then waste your life being wasted. Think about when your a senior in high school you will drink beer and all whatever, but think about getting into a car and getting into a crash. You just wasted your whole high school years working hard then you go kill yourself. Now I know that don't happen to everybody, but there is always that one that does. And that someone could be someone you love or is close to, or even you. And I agree what adam says.

There aren't many good things that can come out of lower the drinking age, plus I'm sure that they're not going to allow it because must of the people that argue about this are closer to 18 instead of 21.

Also teens can most likely getting away faking their age as 18 then 21. So lowering it would just put a big death sign on the the teenagers. Plus there is no reason to lower it because people under 21 still drink. Seriously high school parties these days have nothing but drinking, sadly I would know. But I have never been drunk or anything like that, maybe slighty buzzed, but don't count me on that. Which is why I say it should stay 21, because teens drink more than a cup or can.

the age should stay where it is, AND be more enforced. Because there are still people under 21 who get drunk and lead to dissaterous things. Let's just face it, people are more dangerous when they drink, in every way, shape, and form. Why would you want 18 year olds, some of you want EVEN YOUNGER kids to endanger themselves, and anyone around them?

I'm going to put my input into this.

The uk's drinking age is 18. The UK has a huge binge drinking problem, BUT it does NOT have a huge underground alcohol trade.

People in america if underage will find a way of getting drink illegally. It's the same with the underground drug trade, you can't get it legally, so we'll find dealers who sell the same stuff but in a more harmfull way.

Over here i have only come across one alcohol dealer, the stuff he sold was a mixture of vodka and white spirits. The combination would end in a very early and highly flamable death.

18 is a fair age for drinking, so long as it's in moderation. Being like me and drinking yourself into a stuper some nights is not recommended. It is indeed a good laugh, so long as your stuper is memorable and you have some control over yourself. You should know your limits and there is no harm done in one night where you've drank yourself into a state where you wake up covered in blood and with no recollection what you did, because it will save a life time of doing it again. I did it once and have never drank that much again.

Yes drink causes alot of health problems, but living your life worrying about what is going to harm you is going to end up you living a life where even leaving the house is scary. Scientists have proven that apples give you cancer, will you stop eating apples? NO! Because that's stupid, if you like something then noone should have the right to stop it unless it's beyond the limits of "boys will be boys" and into the "rape is ok" circle. The law is good for keeping criminals out of jail but it's high time the government let the people decide what is right for them.

All in all, drink is ok so long as you drink it wisely.
Drink is bad if your an idiot.
