Adam, now if you look who's online, it displays only members of the past five minutes. So can you please do this:

Admin Panel -> Server configuration (left-below the index of the adminpage) -> Server performance -> 15 minutes

I don't know the real titles of those names but this should help it out. With this, the forum looks much more alive and so everyone's posting again.

Agree or not?

It helps because the community looks more active, instead of just the sparse spikes in activity which I've seen.

People will post when they see something worth posting on. If i seen 1000 members on i would not feel even a little bit more compelled to post. Put up a good thread people will post and the member count will go up without trying to mask the forum ;]

If nobody's online, this forum will starve because nobody wants to post something that probably won't answered back. It's just for an better look. And so whe can see who's realy active, because I always switch from site to site, short of. It just looks and sounds better.

In that case advertising the forum and drawing new members seems like a better solution (using sites like linkrefferal, or on link the site to SMB fanpages (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter...), maybe even fan-run websites.

16 users online looks better than 2 users online and attracts more members. Then, this forum will stand up alive. It's just a detail.
