These set of rules were made by a fellow member by the name of Mariomesser, so give him a big round of applause for the set of official rules

1. Fix your grammar and text style.

Bad Grammer makes you look unintelligent and an idiot. if you can, try to fix your grammer. Here is a right and wrong example (not making fun of anyone I use)

Look at the use of everything, and learn to use it yourself.

2. Don't resurrect old RPG's.

There are some good ones out there that just never made it. Don't go acting like a necromancer and DO NOT resurrect them. Some ones are just ment to be like that, and stay unharmed. If you really want to resurrect and old RPG, I suggest that you message either me or NethaEmerald, Cap or Adam, the mods of these forums. I would suggest NethaEmerald, since he's most likely the most frequent mod visitor of the Jump IN RPG's.

3. The starter of the RPG is named the "RPG head"

When you start an RPG, YOU will be appointed to be the most important member of the RPG, and you will be required to lay down the rules (or if it's an rule-less RPG, ignore that), PM people if they did something wrong in their post, and offer explanations to anyone who requests you by PM. This doesn't happen often, but I'm just telling you how it goes when it DOES happen.

4. No Godmodding

Godmodding is the practice of taking something or doing something which ruins the storyline. It is found very annoying by most of the RPG'ers

Netha: And with a little push of this button, MM's little army will be gone!
NAD:Don't worry! I'll fix this!
*NAD jumps 50 feet in the air, and slashes the helicopter in two pieces*


It annoys whoever was god-modded on, and can seriously give them a bad rep if they keep it up. It also makes the entire thing unfair and idiotic.

5. PLAY ACCORDING TO THE RULES!

If someone sets up the rules in the beginning of the RPG, you are supposed to follow them. If you don't the RPG head may issue an ignore against you. This means that whatever you post, it will be ignored by everyone else in the RPG, making it useless to post in it again

6. Keep some space.

Keep some space between posts, or else someone can control an RPG by himself. Use the example below to see what I mean-

A: post
B:post
C;post
B:post
A:post
B:Post
C;Post

Now, A and C are doing it fine. It is prefered to keep at least a two post distance. However, B is "spamming" and will most likely generate some, if not many frustration by the others in the RPG (A,C). Prevent that.

7. Never take anything too seriously.

Never take something too seriously in an RPG. They are meant to be fun, and if you become frustrated at one, don't stay in it. Leave to another one, nobody is forcing you to stay in an RPG.

8. Make sure the RPG has at least 3 people in it!

Now, it would be unfair for me to make up this rule, and bust the "Stupid Mario Numb3rs" RPG after I made up this rule after it was started, but from now on, you must have at least 3 people in your rpg! I will enforce this rule (or do my best, since I am usually the only one of the mods who even posts in here), so if it lacks people, and it passes page 2 without 3 unique people in it, it becomes locked, unless you can convince me otherwise. I am not fond of a 2 man rpg, or even a 1 man (which is against the rules here to have, like a 15 post streak that is unbroken) rpg in this area. If you wish to do this, ask me or Cap first.


**Update**

StupidMarioFanChar gave me a few suggestions for rules, so read up and understand them.

9) Don't mes up plot points.

This means don't end a big fight, or do something ridiculous to end something major, because it will get on all the RP'ers nerves.

10) Make sure posts make sense.

Don't go ahead and make no sense. An example is that everyone is looking for a gold nugget in Netherlands, then somehow, everyone gets to Fiji.

11) Joke timing

Everyone loves comic relief, but make sure it's at the right time. If it's off time (in a serious RPG, if there are any), then don't make it as spastic as the cooky ones.

12. ADD SOMETHING IN YOUR POST


Make sure that the story progresses in you post, and that you either introduce yourself, or move the story alone (at least a bit). IN that way that there is at least a bit of "movement" in the RPG.

No, that is nothing like godmodding. Godmodding is having a character do ridiculous things such as jumping 50 feet into the air and slicing the helicopter into multiple pieces with a katana. That is, as described, changing personalities. Don't mistake godmodding for the abuse of artistic liberties.
