I have a hitachi mini dv camera that I'm trying to figure out how to transfer video from. For years, I've used a dazzle digital video converter that treats the video like regular analogue video from other sources to move my videos onto my pc for editing. Is there another way I can take the files from the mini dv and put them on my computer?

See, that's the thing. It doesn't have anything but a audio/video output cable jack.

I don't really see much of an easier way to do it than with that whole video capture card deal (you could go with a dvd recorder, but it's sort of the same idea...)
